Some people think books are losing importance as a source of information and entertainment. To what extent do you agree?
There are plenty of different views on this topic. On the one hand, some people believe that books are not so valuable as they were before and this trend continues. Whereas, on the other hand, the other part of our society has a controversial opinion that books are playing the main role in areas of getting some information or entertainment.
First of all, it is important to admit that books have been taking the major place not only as a source of the most important information but also as a source of enjoinment the last several millennials of our history. Consequently, we, as humans, clearly understand that books are highly valuable for us because it is a great tool for the development of ourselves as savvy creatures.
It is obvious that in the last years the popularity of books has decreased significantly. From my point of view, it has happened because of the boom in a technology area, in general, and because of the heyday of the Internet, in particular. As a result, we have got a lot of different tools that also give us an opportunity to get different information or entertainments. Thus, I believe it is the main reason for this dramatical decrease in books popularity.
In conclusion, I want to emphasize the moment that this downtrend does not mean that we are going in the wrong direction. From my perspective, it mainly shows us that we began to live in an absolutely different social space. I think that it is primarily cyberspace and it is our future. We need to adapt to this new era as it is a new huge step in our evolution as a generation and as a society. Actually, I am totally sure that we can achieve these modern world’s goals with flying colors.
