During all my life I often thought why people must study and what purpose of their education is. When I was a child and studied at school I thought that education was very boring and unnecessary occupation. My parents always told me that it would be necessary for me in future but at that period I didn’t understand them. I was a good pupil and had good and excellent marks but I had no interest in education. I studied well because the teachers and parents told that it was necessary. Some subjects were interesting for me but the process of education itself was uninspired and blah.
When I finished my education at school I didn’t know what I wanted to do in future. I could not decide who I wanted to be. My parents tried to help me to choose the right way in my life. And I understood that the decision I had to make was very important for my future life. The question of who I wanted to be ultimately reflected my attitudes and beliefs about my life itself. The inability to make informed decisions - that's what distinguishes many students today. Nearly all my schoolmates were going to get higher education. Some of them thought that a university diploma would help them to get a good job. The other decided to study because of their parents, some of my friends wanted simply to party.There were some of them which simply had enough money to pay for the course of studing at the university. So I also decided to continue my education at the university.
When I entered the university I realized that the process of education was more difficult than I have imagined. Sometimes it seemed that some things we have studied were good for nothing. A lot of material and a great deal of tasks sometimes seemed impossible to do. Sometimes I was in despair. But at a certain period my mind began to arrange everything on the shelves. And eventually I began to realize the purpose of education. People learn not in order to learn. This is an ongoing process. But something must be obtained at the given stages. I began to realize that knowledge is the foundation that allows you to build your own world, to have your own views and to be an active driving force. Now I understand that not a diploma is worth. What is a diploma? A sheet of paper only with qualification, subjects which you do not even remember, with the official stamp.It is not knowledge and skills.In the world there are many people who do not have a paper with the official seal, but they understand and know what they do. So I think that knowledge is important not a document about it.
University - is a good starting place for all.Moreover, there you learn to work with a huge amount of information. But it is not necessarily to dig into the books and it is not necessary to participate in all student activities.At the university you can learn a lot of useful thing, if you know what they will be necessary for. And here you gradually begin to realize what is more essential for you and what is less. And the University is a place where you learn to think.The ability to think helps us to understand how the world works, to understand ourselves and other people, to analyze our actions and deeds and and to make the right decisions. And of course the university suggests youthe acquisition of new friends and developing social skills. This is one of the most useful things that a person receives in the course of study at the university. And this is the invaluable experience you can get in your life.
Now I am sure that foreign languages will help me to realize myself in my life. Now I want to learn as much as possible in order to use the knowledge I have got in future. I have learned to study, to work with information, to use the material I have learned in practice. So now I know how important education in human life is and how positive it can influence the future of a person. The education I have already got gives me a chance to communicate freely with people abroad, to find a job (even abroad), to teach other people foreign languages. It gives me more abilities to get information and to use it in my life, to study other cultures, to learn much about other countries and people. And it helps me to earn money and to ensure a decent future for my family and my future children.I believe that my education will help me in my future life to become more successful and happy and it will give me a start to become a well-educated, a good looking, a communicative and a sociable person.
Summing up, I want to say that the purpose of education is to support children in developing the skills, the knowledge, and the dispositions that will allow them to be responsible, contributing members of their community-their democratically-informed community. Education helps them to be a good friend, to be a good mate, to be able to work, and to contribute to the well-being of the community.
