Prior to moving to Kharkov, I achieved my BA in psychology, specializing in languages. Following this, I completed my Master of Science Degree in Brain Imaging & Cognitive Neuroscience from the Birmingham University, UK. This has enhanced my scientific knowledge enabling me to understand advanced science programs and brain imaging software.

During this time, I also gained many skills to perform advanced research and analysis using statistical analysis and neurological computer modelling and mapping. This was achieved using programming software FSL, SPSS, SPM8 & MATLAB. Also, while studying at the University of Birmingham I gained a lot of experience as a teaching assistant in advanced programming and MRI applications. I really enjoyed teaching, helping foreign students to learn better English to achieve great results.

I assisted foreign students from all over the world including; France, Germany, Italy, Iran, Poland & Russia to deepen their understanding of this subject in the English language. I would assist them to translate research journals, programming instructions and produce written reports for submission to the university.

These positions at the University have allowed me to further my tutoring skills from those I had already acquired at university, assisting students with both reading and understanding the advanced scientific English language.

I have been working in Kharkov for over one year as a language tutor to children whose ages range from between 2 to 15. I am most proud of teaching a young girl Katrina who is 4 years old. She spoke no English but as her parents were moving to USA they needed my help to teach her the basics in communication. Within two months before their move, she was speaking at a level far higher than they had anticipated and would be happy to give a reference.

By studying psychology, I have also gained valuable insight into how our memory operates best. Using Millers magic number seven theory, this has helped children learn and retain information far more successfully. I thoroughly believe in interactive learning and engaging with the natural environment as much as possible to create the link between object and the new meaning.
