Hi, my name is Alexandra.
I have been teaching for 10 years now. But since April 2019 I have been working online. It means that my online working experience is about two years and seven months. Working online helps me to communicate with a great variety of students from different places and countries. So I have taught students from various backgrounds, ages, and levels via zoom. From immigrants to international students, private lessons to classrooms.
Before teaching ESL, I studied logistics and accounting and auditing at university, and last year I completed the online course of TESOL. This background has helped me to understand some of the cultural differences of my students, including differences in how they may approach learning, writing, body language, and speaking. I also got master degree in phycology.
Teaching is one of those great professions that allow you to be forever learning. I really appreciate all national geographic learning publics such as Keynote, Impact, Reading Explorer and I use them very actively during my classes. My students and I are really fallen in love with TED talks and we have very active discussions after watching them. While I teach students English, they teach me about their cultures, lives, and other ways to see the world. I am sure it is the best thing in my work.
