Teaching English is not just my profession, it’s my passion and maybe even obsession. The thing that I like the most about it is the diversity of activities and topics. Learning English you can sing along with John Legend or Imagine Dragons, watch British dramas or American sit-coms, read thrilling novels, listen to the latest news, take part in a discussion about climate change … How can it be boring? It’s a whole new exciting world.
My lessons are always well-planned and structured. I encourage students to speak a lot, teach them to be able to sustain conversation and give arguments in support of their idea. Also, I concentrate on the development of listening skills mainly using real-life materials. With students who are fond of reading we have deep discussions questioning the author's viewpoint, illustrating passages from the books with examples from our life, and thinking about how we can apply new knowledge. I try not to overload students with tedious grammar exercises, but at the same time, we gradually learn how to make grammatically correct sentences.
As a person I’m absolutely open-minded and patient, however, demanding. I expect students to be committed and work regularly, can’t stand idleness and excuses. My favorite quote is “True learning takes energy, patience and burning desire”
